Folding Machine Operator

Absolute recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Folding Machine Operator

Job responsibilities – To operate folding machine to achieve required levels of quality and output volumes

Set folding equipment, including feeder, transfer, print detection / pharmacode readers, folding section counter and delivery. Obtain approval and operate machine to ensure achievement of quality standards, adherence to customer specification and maintain output speed

Set and operate other ancillary items of equipment, including material handling devices, counting, banding, labelling and shrink-wrapping equipment

Ensure compliance to the Company’s Quality Assurance procedures at all times, including appropriate line clearance and in-process inspection documentation

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment through regular maintenance as detailed by the equipment manufacturer and specific Works Instruction. As required, change guillotine knife ensuring strict adherence to the appropriate procedure and carry out other adjustments on equipment to maintain performance

Ensure daily / weekly machine guard checks are completed and documented in accordance with the Departmental and Company procedures

Provide training to apprentices / trainees as required to provide an understanding of equipment controls and the principles of folding machine operation

Ensure printing, cutting or folding faults, or any other issues affecting quality or non-compliance to customer specifications are referred immediately to the Shift Co-ordinator or QA Department

Essential

• Understanding of folding process
• Attention to detail

Desirable

• Basic computer literacy
• Able to use Polar 92 Guillotine

Essential

• Experience of producing both parallel and cross-folds

Desirable

• Experience of pharmaceutical folding

Hours of work – 06am
-13 : 25pm / 13 : 20-21 : 00 rotating each week
