Purpose of the RoleJoin the Maintenance team as a Maintenance Technician, with opportunities available across both Assembly and Paint Maintenance, where you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving equipment reliability, enabling targets in output and quality to be met whilst working within Bentley operating policies and safety framework. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our manufacturing operations and contributing to Bentley’s goals and Beyond

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager your main responsibilities include;
- Leading major complex problem solving activities ensuring a safe, timely and structured approach is used and that appropriate escalation and communication processes are adhered too.
- Resolving maintenance breakdowns using in depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, control equipment, PLC and robotic programming systems.
- Carrying out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Working to safe practices as set out in the safety framework reporting any accidents or near misses to the relevant supervision.
- Ensuring any Maintenance activity does not place any other colleague / contractor / visitor at risk from their actions or omissions.
- Driving continuous improvement activities including generating Equipment Top Issues pareto for the technology. Utilises data to ensure RCA problem solving tools are being used to contain, resolve and ultimately eliminate the root causes preventing reoccurrence.
- Working cross functionally in the delivery of new equipment to site ensuring the department is set up to be self-sufficient from SOP and that the equipment is robust.
Our Production Maintenance teams are responsible for the technical availability, uptime and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment. Assembly Maintenance supports our newest and largest Future Factory, while Paintshop Maintenance supports our new, purpose-built, state-of-the-art Paint Factory. Both teams collaborate across Bentley and the wider VW Group, driving innovation, cross-functional manufacturing activities and our Industry 4.0 digitalisation journey, with opportunities to develop expertise across multiple OEM assets.
Aboutyou – Skills and Experience
- Accredited Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, HNC preferred.
- Experience in an engineering, maintenance, military or industrial environment, with responsibility for maintaining equipment, machinery, plant or systems.
- Experience diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults using tools, test equipment, drawings, technical manuals or structured troubleshooting methods.
- Experience completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), inspections and/or breakdown maintenance.
- Evidence of working from engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals or work instructions and accurately completing maintenance records, job cards, fault reports or electronic work orders.
- Experience working within controlled engineering safety procedures, including risk assessments.
- Exposure or knowledge of PLC’s and Robotics, and production line equipment (fluid fill equipment, drives & motors, pneumatic assistors, high bay storage systems, SCA systems) would be advantageous, but not essential
