Lead Teacher

We are growing! Pumpkin Patch is a family owned and operated small childcare center located in the heart of Cromwell. Lead Teachers are responsible for the care, supervision and management of the classroom in accordance with the State of Connecticut Child Day Care Center Statutes and Regulations.

Principal duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all children, implementing a developmentally appropriate play‑based curriculum, forming nurturing bonds with each child, fostering and monitoring children’s cognitive, physical, language, and social and emotional development. Additionally, teachers are responsible for skillfully managing the classroom, implementing routines and structure as well as utilizing positive behavioral supports. Teachers are expected to communicate professionally and positively with coworkers and families and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Lead teachers are responsible for the care, supervision and management of a class of children in accordance with the State of CT Licensing Regulations. Principal duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all children, implementing a play‑based curriculum, forming nurturing bonds that support the cognitive and social/emotional development of each child, partnering with parents and families, managing classroom routines and activities.

This position is a Monday‑Friday, 40 hour a week position.

Requirements
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with children
Nice To Haves
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience as a lead teacher with this age group
  • CDA or Head Teacher
