The Dietary Aide, or Nutrition Aide, is responsible for preparing and delivering healthy meals and ensuring that patients have the proper foods based on their needs. They work closely with Dietitians, providing details on allergies or restrictions to create plans accordingly.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food under the guidance of the Chef or Dietitian.
- Deliver dishes, trays, and designated times and rooms.
- Assist in setting up and clearing dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order, including dish, tray, trash and leftover removals.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements; maintain cleanliness of prep items.
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed.
- Provide customer service and hospitality during nutrition delivery.

High school diploma - Certificate(s):
- Current Food Handler’s Permit is required.
- Training in Serv Safe is beneficial.
- Experience
:- Desired is one (1) year of food service experience, including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal prep; preferred.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written, English) with residents and staff.
- Read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices.
- Cordial and congenial with residents.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and have good follow-through.
- Work within standard policy and procedures, with limited direct supervision.
- Handle various tasks and functions; react calmly in emergency situations.
- Show patience and compassion to senior adults.
- Consider resident comfort, safety, security, and belongings.
- Set and establish priorities; manage time efficiently.
- Maintain neat, orderly work area and well-groomed appearance complying with dietary food code; adhere to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles.
- Work with all people and socialize; includes employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, other health care professionals.
- May be required to lift or carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pulling/pushing, extended periods walking and/or standing.
- May be required to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch when performing job duties.
- Must possess adequate sight and hearing to meet the responsibilities of this position.
Pay Range: $16.35 - $19.27 per hour. Reasonable estimate considers job‑related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal and external equity.
