POSITION
This is a short-term and/or temporary on-campus Agronomy and Horticulture teaching position for the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus’s Agriculture & Natural Resources Department for the academic year.
ResponsibilitiesJob Code: 9754 (Teaching Specialist)
- Develop and teach courses
- Advise students regarding academic concerns and school-related organizations
- Provide service-related teaching duties
- Participate in policy, course, and program decisions
- Engage in ongoing professional growth, stay current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise
Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in agriculture, agronomy, and horticulture. Assist in developing department goals, advise students, and support research and community outreach. Develop and maintain strong ties within the field, enrich the student experience, and support student employment opportunities. Regular office hours are required.
- Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline
- Or, Master’s Degree in another field plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
- A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred
- Relevant professional and/or teaching experience
- Willingness to demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competencies, and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Eligibility to work within the United States
$1300-$1500 per credit, based on experience, course, and enrollment. Retirement plan options are available for eligible classifications.
