Best Friends Veterinary Hospital, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced full‑time Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Crossville, TN
. We provide warm, empathetic service to our clients and their pets and seek individuals who are compassionate, flexible, and eager to learn.

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with appointments.
• Take client history, perform physical assessments, and record observations legibly.
• Educate clients on preventative healthcare and provide follow‑ups.
• Communicate patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Perform venipuncture, collect blood samples, run in‑house lab tests, prepare and send forms to outside labs, and call owners with results as requested.
• Provide nursing care as directed, including medication administration via all routes.
• Admit and discharge patients following hospital protocols and educate clients on admission/discharge.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, wards, and other incidentals.
• Maintain practice software for dispensing medication, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage cards, X‑ray and lab labels, and recording communication with clients and veterinarians.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Perform client callbacks and updates as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Preferred previous experience in a veterinary hospital or similar setting.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to safely and effectively restrain animals.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or heavier.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff.
• Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
