Cashier (Full-time & Part-time)

Food City / KVAT Foods Inc. is looking for a Cashier in Crossville, TN. Join a privately held, family‑owned company dedicated to running the best store in town.

• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times and ensure a smooth checkout experience.
• Scan and ring customer orders accurately according to company policy, ensuring items are credited to the correct department.
• Receive and account for all funds taken for each transaction.
• Assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station and surrounding area.
• Follow all state and local laws regarding beer and/or wine sales.
• Comply with federal WIC handling laws and coupon handling procedures.
• Follow company check cashing and tendering procedures.
• Execute debit card, credit card, gift card, EBT Cash, and EBT Food Stamp transactions correctly.
• Use assigned tills properly and keep operating within company policy.
• Complete weekly produce tests.
• Record and report all not‑on‑file items daily.
• Obtain and give change following proper procedures.
• Use the intercom correctly.
• Avoid conversations with other associates while checking out.
• Explain the Valu Card program to customers.
• Assist with light stocking duties (candy, cigarettes).
• Sweep the front end of the store.
• Replace misplaced items in the appropriate locations.
• Keep bathrooms neat and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
