Diesel Transmission Technician
Pay: $20–$25 per hour
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Transmission Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a dependable professional with hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and transmission systems who takes pride in quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and transmission systems, including manual and automatic transmissions, torque converters, clutches, and driveline components.
- Perform injector replacement and fuel system repairs, including troubleshooting injector issues, testing fuel pressure, and ensuring proper calibration.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and driveline concerns and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Use professional‑grade personal tools to complete repair and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Remove and install transmissions, engines, and related components while following all safety procedures and lifting requirements.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance, including fluid services, filter replacement, clutch adjustments, and driveline lubrication.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues.
- Document all work performed, including diagnostics, parts used, and labor hours, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, service advisors, and customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations.
- Proven reliability, strong attendance, and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity.
- Experience operating a 4‑post vehicle lift safely and efficiently.
- Experience using tire changers and tire balancers.
- Ability to confidently drive a manual/standard transmission.
