Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
  • Serve as the front-line manager for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives for three offices (prior tax preparation experience not required).
  • Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall and transition to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed. This role requires in-person work (not remote).
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions; conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with support from the Associate Relations Center.
  • Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training, coaching, and recognizing contributions; lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to associates.
  • Create associate work schedules across all offices, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage labor across offices; travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Multi-unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industries.
  • Ability to develop and execute growth plans and cultivate a growth-oriented culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and computer literacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).

  • Aptitude for executing growth plans and fostering a growth culture.
  • Ability to lead with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Educational prerequisites as noted above.
  • Relevant tax knowledge assessments or courses completed or in process.
