About the RoleThe Weekend Supervisor – RN at Crowley Nursing & Rehab plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care during weekend shifts. This position is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations every other weekend. The supervisor acts as a key liaison between nursing personnel, patients, and administrative teams to promote a safe, efficient, and compassionate care environment.
They are tasked with addressing patient care issues promptly, coordinating resources, and supporting staff development to uphold the facility’s standards. Ultimately, this role ensures continuity of care and operational excellence during weekend hours, contributing to positive patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
- Experience working in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility.
- Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or wound care certification.
- Previous experience managing weekend or off-–shift nursing teams.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in long-term care.
- Training or coursework in healthcare quality improvement or patient safety.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff activities during weekend shifts to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Monitor patient conditions and intervene as necessary to maintain high standards of clinical care and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, facility policies, and quality assurance protocols.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to address concerns and facilitate care planning.
- Manage staffing assignments and resolve scheduling issues to maintain adequate coverage throughout the weekend.
- Document and report clinical incidents, patient progress, and operational challenges to senior management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs to enhance care delivery.
The Weekend Supervisor – RN utilizes clinical expertise and leadership skills daily to oversee patient care and guide nursing staff effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, addressing patient and family concerns, and reporting to management. Critical thinking and problem-–solving abilities enable the supervisor to respond promptly to clinical changes and operational challenges during weekend shifts. Organizational skills are applied to manage staffing schedules, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Additionally, proficiency with healthcare technology, such as electronic health records, supports accurate patient data management and quality improvement efforts.
