Job Overview

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist at Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute. Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MRI Technologist is responsible for providing accurate, efficient MRI examinations for diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Essential Functions
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging studies, collaborate with radiologists to establish protocols, and independently complete routine examinations.
  • Evaluate critical and urgent procedures, prioritize patient orders, and maintain accurate imaging records.
  • Monitor supply usage, manage equipment safety checks, and ensure compliance with MRI safety standards.
  • Analyze imaging parameters, send images to the PACS, and uphold equipment operation within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assist with image acquisition, charting for ACR renewal, and order preparation for subsequent imaging days.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expertise in MRI principles, anatomy, and related diagnostic techniques.
  • Familiarity with MRI safety regulations and procedural protocols.
  • Proficiency in MRI software and computer operations for accurate data management.
  • Effective communication with medical staff and ability to adapt to changing job requirements.
Education & Certification

Associate's degree in allied health or Bachelor's degree with clinical imaging experience; or equivalent. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is required.

Experience

Minimum six (6) months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience in a clinical setting.

Physical Requirements

Require standing or sitting for prolonged periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and the ability to perform repetitive motions; specific vision and hearing abilities also required.

Environmental/Working Conditions

Work performed in an office environment with frequent patient interaction; occasional exposure to stressful situations.
