Crown Point, IN. Full-time position at a John Deere dealership.

We are hiring a highly skilled Lawn & Garden Service Technician to support farmers, businesses, and landowners. This role is more than turning wrenches—it’s about building a career.

• Diagnose and repair John Deere lawn & garden equipment (tractors, zero‑turns, gators, compact utility tractors) – plus other brands sold at the dealership.
• Perform small engine diagnostics and maintenance.
• Participate in John Deere University training and dealer‑led programs.
• Stay ahead with ongoing training and manufacturer certifications.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in top shape.
• Complete work orders, track materials, and account for billable time accurately.

• Diagnostic skills for small engines, turf equipment, and lawn & garden machines.
• Technical proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Customer focus – timely, thoughtful repairs.
• Continuous learning – commitment to training.
• Equipment operation – safe operation of mowers, gators, and small tractors.
• Workplace organization – clean, safe, efficient shop.
• Documentation and reporting – accurate reports and work orders.

• 1+ years diagnosing and repairing lawn & garden or small engine equipment.
• Strong grasp of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Experience with John Deere Service ADVISOR™ or other diagnostic tools is a plus.
• Team player who values quality workmanship.
• Able to lift 75 lbs, adapt to shop and outdoor work, and follow all safety standards.
• High school diploma required; technical training or certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; forklift license a plus.
• Must have own tools to perform repairs.
