A secondary school in Croydon is looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant to support pupils who need help with behaviour, attendance, confidence and school engagement. This role sits between behaviour, pastoral care and keeping pupils engaged in school. This is a permanent position starting in September 2026. The role is suited to someone who can build relationships quickly while still holding clear boundaries.
You will be working with pupils who may need mentoring, emotional support or help staying on track during the school day.
- Pastoral and behaviour support for secondary‑aged pupils
- Helping pupils manage routines, expectations and relationships
- Working with teachers, pastoral leads and safeguarding staff
- Supporting pupils before issues become bigger problems
- Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, behaviour support or pastoral care
- Calm and professional communication
- Confidence working with pupils who may push boundaries
- Someone reliable, mature and consistent
Pay: £95 - £115 per day
