Deputy Home Manager; RGN

Position: Deputy Home Manager (RGN) (Permanent)
Location: South Croydon

Stephen James Consulting continue to work with one of their established elderly care providers in the search for a Clinical Deputy Home Manager for a medium-sized nursing home based in Croydon, South London.

This is a key leadership opportunity within a stable and well-supported service. The home benefits from a strong and experienced Home Manager and is now looking to appoint a confident and clinically credible deputy to lead on nursing standards, governance, and day-to-day clinical oversight.

This is a largely supernumerary role, allowing you to focus on clinical leadership, quality improvement, audits, and team development rather than being counted within the staffing numbers.

You will be responsible for:

* Supporting the Home Manager with the operational and clinical leadership of the service

* Leading, mentoring and developing the nursing team

* Overseeing care planning, medication management, and clinical compliance

* Driving audits, governance processes, and CQC readiness

* Promoting a strong, person-centred culture across the home

To be considered for this role, you will need:

* Active NMC PIN (RGN or RMN)

* Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or strong Clinical Lead within a nursing home setting

* Solid knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical governance

* Confident leadership skills and the ability to support and develop a nursing team

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, offering £50,000–£51,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
