Overview
A dedicated and experienced Deputy Registered Manager is required to support the leadership and delivery of high‑quality adult care services within a CQC‑regulated setting. This role involves assisting the Registered Manager with operational oversight, staff management, service quality, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for delivering safe, person‑centred care and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the service remains safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well‑led in line with CQC requirements.
* Assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring robust safeguarding practices and compliance with relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and DoLS.
* Provide leadership to staff teams, including supervision, performance management, recruitment, and training.
* Help manage recruitment, onboarding, and continuous staff development.
* Conduct audits, quality checks, risk assessments, and contribute to service improvement plans.
* Promote a culture of person‑centred care, ensuring care plans are tailored and regularly reviewed.
* Maintain strong relationships with service users, families, local authorities, safeguarding teams, and external partners.
* Support the management of budgets, resources, and operational KPIs.
* Assist with preparing for CQC inspections through effective governance and quality assurance systems.
Qualifications & Experience Required
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, or equivalent within a CQC‑regulated environment.
* Strong understanding of CQC Key Lines of Enquiry and safeguarding procedures.
* Experience supporting adults with care needs, learning disabilities, mental health needs, or complex needs.
* Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
* Confidence using digital care systems and modern governance tools.
