Overview
Team Leader - Croydon University Hospital, London. Catch
22 is recruiting a Team Leader for Redthread’s delivery within Croydon University Hospital and surrounding area. The role is part of the wider Youth Work team with a primary focus on youth violence interventions in a health care setting. You will lead the Youth Violence Intervention Programme team at the hospital, supervising Youth Workers and supporting young people in hospital and post-discharge.
- Recruit, manage, motivate, coach and develop a staff team, including annual appraisals and regular supervision meetings; manage health, safety and wellbeing.
- Promote and embed Catch
22’s vision and values in local service delivery. - Ensure all service user information, interventions and data are recorded on the relevant data management system in line with Catch
22 policy. - Manage operational risk, health and safety, governance and safeguarding in line with policies.
- Carry out regular case file audits as per the Audit Policy and Procedure.
- Allocate referrals and ensure caseload management structures are in place.
- Adhere to reporting requirements, deadlines and ensure information is recorded accurately.
- Hold a small caseload of young people and support them in hospital and post-discharge.
- Essential:
Relevant level 3 or 4 qualification in health & wellbeing, youth provision or similar or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Significant experience of working with young people with challenging needs.
- Experience of inter-agency working with Children’s and Family Services, Youth Justice Services, and Youth services.
- Experience of delivering training to young people and professionals.
- Experience working with young people in group and one-to-one settings.
- Knowledge of risk and vulnerability factors for at-risk and vulnerable young people.
- Knowledge of engagement and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of Children Act/LSCB procedures and youth policies.
- Understanding and experience of performance management with regard to practice and target achievement.
- Experience of using recording and data collation systems; line management experience.
- Clear risk assessment skills when working with young people with complex needs.
- Ability to work creatively within management arrangements and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
- Conflict management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead a team, set objectives, monitor performance against targets, and provide supervision and development.
- Service evaluation contribution and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong communication skills in diverse settings.
- Good organisational skills; ability to manage multiple demands and flexible working approaches.
- Problem solving and a can-do attitude; basic ICT skills; attention to detail.
- Understanding of spreadsheets, monitoring, and general financial awareness.
- Contract:
Permanent - Hours & work pattern:
Full-time, 37 hours per week, including regular weekend and evening work and shift patterns from 9am–9pm. - Salary: £38,424
