Lead your team and assist the Yard Manager with the day to day operations of the warehouse and yard. This position will be actively involved in all operational activities such as driving the forklift, sorting metals, greeting customers, and cashiering. This role must address all procedural questions to their manager.

A friendly and outgoing personality is a must as you will be working directly with customers to make sure that their needs are being met and that our staff is providing friendly and efficient service that exceeds customers’ expectations.

The following experience is a plus but not required:
Experience in the recycling field, forklift operations, cash handling, and bilingual (English/Spanish).

Description & Responsibilities

Within this position you will be responsible for a wide array of duties including but not limited to:

Supervising and directing employees in day to day tasks

Assisting with safety meetings, and ensuring a safe work environment

Regular use of scanners, fax, phones, and computer systems (Microsoft Word and Excel, internal inventory system, Gmail)

Working directly with customers

Working in the warehouse:
Sorting metals, loading and unloading trailers, recording inventory

Covering the cashier station as needed

Maintaining positive work relations

All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Responsibilities primarily performed by standing / walking 90% of the time

Sitting is required for the remaining 10% of the time

The ability to work in both extreme heat and cold weather conditions is required

Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds

Normal range of vision, depth perception and hearing is needed

Ability to bend, stoop and reach above the shoulders is required

Hours of Availability

This position is full time, working at least 32 hours a week. The ideal candidate should have availability to work Monday through Friday, and half days on Saturday’s as well. Overtime is not guaranteed.
