OBGYN - Crystal Lake

Overview

Mercyhealth in McHenry County is recruiting for an OBGYN team as part of a growing presence that includes a large site in Woodstock, the city of McHenry, and surrounding areas. The team will be supported by a strong referral base.

The OBGYN team will operate across two clinical locations in McHenry County:

• Crystal Lake
• Mc Henry

Mercyhealth is recruiting 2 additional MDs, creating a three-physician OBGYN team. Incoming physicians may be based 100% at either Crystal Lake or McHenry.

Deliveries will be performed at Northwestern Huntley Hospital. All gynecologic surgeries will be performed at the new Mercyhealth Crystal Lake Hospital.

Crystal Lake Hospital & Multispecialty Clinic
:
The new multispecialty clinic and hospital will be in the same building. In the Crystal Lake clinic, the OBGYN will have 3 exam rooms and a large treatment/procedure room attached to a bathroom with full radiology services including mammography and ultrasound. The clinic is located 20 minutes from Northwestern Huntley Hospital (deliveries performed here). The multispecialty clinic will house 15 Mercyhealth physicians with the following specialties:

• Family medicine
• OB
• Gastroenterology
• Pulmonary
• Pain Medicine
• Audiology (A  testing performed)
• Surgery
• Urology
• ENT
• Audiology
• Orthopedic
• Pediatrics
• Cardiology
• Oncology

Mercyhealth McHenry Clinic
:
The McHenry Clinic currently has 8 physician practices with specialties including Family medicine, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, GI, and Orthopedics. Radiology with mammography and ultrasound and PT/OT are also offered. The OBGYN clinic will have 3 exam rooms and a large treatment/procedure room. It is located 25 minutes from Northwestern Huntley Hospital (deliveries performed here) and 12 minutes from Crystal Lake Hospital (gyn cases performed here).

All deliveries are performed at Northwestern Huntley Hospital, a 128-bed facility and Level 2 trauma center with a Level 2 NICU. The family birthing center has 20 beds with 2 ORs. Babies below 32 weeks are transferred out. There is 24-hour OB hospitalist coverage for emergencies.

• 4-day work week

• 1 OR day (flexibility for a full OR day or two half days)

• Average 20 patients per clinical day and 8–10 deliveries per month

• Case mix: 50% OB, 50% GYN

Deliveries will be performed at Northwestern Huntley Hospital. GYN surgeries will be performed at the new Crystal Lake Hospital (not deliveries).

Support includes RN and/or MA, regional medical officer, assistant regional medical officer, clinic manager, nursing and reception supervisors, as well as scheduling and back-office support. Mercyhealth would consider adding an APP to each practice as needs arise and based on physician interest.

The closest MFM support is at the Regional Perinatal Center in Rockford with a Level III NICU (60 minutes from Crystal Lake and McHenry).
