Crystal Lake Hospital is a community-focused hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care with advanced emergency, inpatient, and surgical services.   • 7-Bed Emergency Department (plus a dedicated triage area)
  • Awaiting EDAP (Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics) Designation (scheduled for this fall)
  • Awaiting ASRH (Acute Stroke Ready Hospital) Designation
  • 11 Inpatient Rooms + 2 ICU Rooms
  • 4 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • Hospitalists On-Site 24/7 - Continuous inpatient care presence
  • Emergency Physicians On-Site 24/7
  • Leadership Support:
    Nurse leaders on-site Monday-Friday during business hours. RN House Coordinators covering nights, weekends, and leadership gaps.

At Crystal Lake Hospital, you'll join a collaborative, mission-driven team delivering exceptional care in a well-equipped setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
  • Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Documents care provided according to standards.
  • Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
  • Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
  • Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
  • Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator.
  • Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel.
  • Bladder scanning procedure reviewed.
  • Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency).
  • Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor.
  • Managing and reporting collection devices.
  • Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures.
  • Indwelling catheters: care and output measures.
  • Nasogastric tubes to suction.
  • Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN.
  • Competent in completing vital signs:
    Manual process for blood pressure and required reporting of abnormal values to supervising RN.
  • Discontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN:
    Indwelling (Foley) catheters, Nasogastric tubes, Peripherally inserted intravenous catheters, and similar devices as appropriate.
Education and Experience

Completion of a CNA program.

Certification and Licensure

Current CNA certificate in applicable state.

Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
