SUMMARY

Quality Tech assures non-conforming issues are addressed to appropriate management. Quality Tech maintains authority to accept or reject products as necessary, ensures causes are identified, and that follow-up activities occur with responsible vendors to minimize impact and prevent recurrence. Quality Tech participates in continuous improvement activities to drive improvements in quality effectiveness. It is the responsibility of the Quality Tech to promote a quality mindset throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the Quality Manager to increase inspection of Dock to Quality (DTQ) items and to improve current inspection methods and documentation.
  • Conduct AQL incoming inspections and testing and ensure that all DTQ requirements associated documentation are recorded and properly stored.
  • Control and monitor the Quality Control hold area and items contained within.
  • Attend and contribute to the Cycle Count Meeting and the Customer Response System meeting.
  • Assist with the Calibration program. Review and maintain the program, send equipment to approved service provider(s), maintain and review all associated documentation.
  • Return Goods Authorization (RGA). – inspect incoming return goods and assist with evaluation(s) disposition.
  • Receive, review and file Vendor Certificates of Compliance / Certificates of Analysis.
  • NCRs – Lead and process NCR (non-conforming reports) and communication to the Team.
    • Generate NCR - non-conformance reports for incoming materials.
    • Trend NCRs for Corrective actions request to suppliers.
    • Maintain the Vendor Performance audit log.
  • Internal Audits – Review areas as per the schedule, assist with conducting and documenting audits.
  • Traceability – Maintain the material preservation program. Review documentation regarding use of materials, proper documentation techniques on Traceability reports, and perform inspections as required.
  • Supplier Audits/Supplier Evaluation – work with the Quality Auditor to maintain the supplier audit schedule.
  • Obtain ISO Internal Auditor Training certification.
  • Cross train on contract review and C of C distributing as well as other documentation control related tasks as assigned.
  • Assure programs, procedures and documentation are recorded out correctly.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is nice to have but not required.
  • Minimum High School Diploma and equivalent experience of 2-5 years in quality and/or regulatory field related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Shop orders, product specifications, engineering drawings and contract reviews.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to customers, auditors, management and employees of organization.
  • Basic skills in mathematics and statistics required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of ISO-9001.
  • Trained in auditing techniques (will train if necessary).
  • Must be familiar with measuring tools such as:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Tape Measures
    • Taper Gauge
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both office and plant surroundings. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, certain areas required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
