We are looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but effective time management and meeting deadlines are crucial. FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

• Complete most inspections within 5-6 minutes.
• Finish the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in a mobile application.
• Be able to drive for extended periods, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage; you will pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates.

There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
