Lead Teacher

Teaching is more than a job. It is an opportunity to foster curiosity, creativity and compassion in children – all while helping them develop a lifelong love of learning.

As a Lead Teacher you will create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. You will help guide these little ones through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

• Plan the weekly curriculum and activities
• Develop genuine relationships with each child and families
• Help children learn about language and literacy, life skills, and more.
• Work with your assistant teacher and/or aide to implement the lesson plan.
• Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
• Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
• Work with your assistant teacher and/or helper to maintain teacher/child ratios.
• Communicate with families about the important updates, and classroom activities.
• Maintain the physical appearance, health, safety, and well-being of the children and their environment.
• Additional duties as needed.

• 2+ years of experience as a teacher
• CDA, Associate degree, or higher in early childcare, child development, child psychology, or a related field Highly recommended
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to be able to lead a classroom
• Patient, kind, nurturing, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within a specified period after employment.

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

P&C LEARNING CENTER

P & C is a Group Family daycare a class C3 licensed organization within the State of Minnesota. Our license allows care for children to include toddlers, school-age children, and infants.

We are all onto ourselves. This is good because it allows our children their autonomy and space and provides them with the identity of another home away from home. Because of the layout of the environment, our children express being comfortable, audacious, and yes being children as they should be. We believe the surroundings they grow up in should be as familiar and comfortable as what they would expect if at home, yet carrying with it the standards, objectives, and expectations of early childhood preparedness for the next step

The primary mission of P & C Family Daycare Child Care is to ensure the safety, well-being, and overall healthy development of all children receiving child care services from P&C through the delivery of innovative, high-quality early education by the knowledgeable application of all licensing rules and laws as well as sound social work practices and the implementation of good and tested educational programs and enhanced support services to children and parents.
