Job Description
We are seeking compassionate Mental Health Specialists to work with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis. The people we support may have behavioral or medical complexities and reside in an apartment‑style setting.
What You Get to Do
- Provide hands‑on and/or verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, while fostering independence.
- Maintain a clean, safe space that supports individuals in reaching their personal goals.
- Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
- Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
- Attend community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
- Work on tailored outcomes for individuals and implement behavioral guidance plans as needed.
- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
- Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
- Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older; at least 21 years old to work in child foster care homes.
- Minimum three years’ experience working with persons exhibiting aggressive behaviors or self‑injurious behaviors.
- Prefer experience with persons who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Experience with mental health/illness is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; proof of license required.
- Current auto liability insurance.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
- Ability to perform personal care tasks.
- Strong communication skills for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.

Hours Worked
May be full or part‑time with a mixture of weekday and weekend hours. All persons in this position should be prepared to work weekends and holidays.
