The School District of Cudahy is a diverse, PK through Grade 12 public school district located just south of Milwaukee, WI, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Serving 2,200 students and approximately 400 staff members, the School District of Cudahy staff focus their efforts on the belief that every student is capable of high achievement levels. The School District of Cudahy is seeking a dedicated candidate to join our team.

The Principal shall provide educational direction and supervision to the professional staff. The Middle School Principal acts as the instructional leader and model for grades 5–8 staff and students. This leadership is key to developing and maintaining optimal instructional programs and services for all students.

Terms of Employment

    7/1/2026 (consultation prior to the start date)

    The Superintendent
  • Duration: 260 days (12 months)
  • Evaluation:
    Performance will be reviewed annually prior to June 30th
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Instructional Leadership & Professional Learning
  • Academic Strategy:
    Lead and guide the vision for instructional goal development and serve as the primary monitor of progress toward school-wide academic goals.
  • Data-Driven Instruction:
    Gather and analyze instructional practice data to improve teacher performance and student outcomes.
  • Professional Development:
    Lead the development of annual and long-range Professional Learning (PL) planning for all middle school staff.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay current with modern educational learning trends, discipline management, and curriculum development.
Curriculum & Assessment Oversight

(In collaboration with the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and the Director of Pupil Services)

  • Curriculum Oversight:
    Establish curriculum guidelines and maintain all curricular resources and subscriptions.
  • Assessment Coordination:
    Coordinate, develop, train staff, and oversee all assessment procedures and schedules (state and local).
  • Grading Standards:
    Establish and communicate clear processes, procedures, and time frames for submitting grades and reporting.
  • MLSS/RtI:
    Oversee the school-wide academic Multi-Level Systems of Support (RtI) program, adjusting staff schedules to ensure intervention effectiveness.
Staff Supervision & Evaluation
  • Educator Effectiveness:
    Lead the Educator Effectiveness (EE and processes, providing high-quality feedback to staff.
  • Observations:
    Observe and provide feedback to general education teachers, specifically those in their summary years.
  • Staffing:
    Hire and retain high-quality staff and serve as the coordinator for all instructional personnel.
  • Mentorship:
    Supervise student teachers and interns, ensuring a positive pipeline for future hiring.
Administrative & Technical Operations
  • Scheduling:
    Lead the co-development of scheduling components, including class lists, elective offerings, and instructional minute requirements.
  • Student Information System (Skyward):
    Oversee grade books, report cards, and Family/Teacher Access.
  • Budget & Grants:
    Act as co-budget manager for all school-assigned allocations; manage purchases for instructional supplies.
  • State Reporting:
    Complete state and federal reporting as assigned, including DPI and WISE requirements.
  • Safety:
    Collaborate with the crisis management team.

  • Familiarity with school district procedures, attendance systems, and student data platforms.
