Base pay range$37.50/hr - $56.25/hr

Where You Will WorkExperience a true Orthopedic Med/Surg environment on 3
MESG
, South Shore’s primary surgical unit, where you'll care for patients recovering from procedures like total knee replacements, bowel resections, and amputations. Broaden your clinical exposure with a diverse mix of medical cases—from pneumonia and DKA to alcohol withdrawal—and stable pediatric patients aged 16+, all within a fast-paced 33-bed unit.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly.
- Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.
- Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
- Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.
