Nurse Extern opportunity St. Luke's South Shore for May 2026 grads.
Start as a nurse extern and have the opportunity to transition to a nursing position post graduation. Start your nursing career as a Newly Licensed RN with the same team you had the opportunity to work during your externship. This will make your transition an easier one with less ambiguities.

Where You Will Work:- Experience a true Orthopedic Med/Surg environment on 3
MESG, South Shore’s primary surgical unit, where you'll care for patients recovering from procedures like total knee replacements, bowel resections, and amputations. - Broaden your clinical exposure with a diverse mix of medical cases—from pneumonia and DKA to alcohol withdrawal—and stable pediatric patients aged 16+, all within a fast‑paced 33-bed unit averaging 28 patients daily.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
- Successful completion of Med/Surg 1 and pharmacology.
- Unofficial transcript required at time of offer.
- Support patient care under RN supervision by assisting with daily activities, vital signs, and medication administration while gaining hands‑on clinical experience.
- Build foundational nursing skills through collaboration, observation, and participation in care planning, emergency response, and team communication.
- 8 hours a week required until graduation
