Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of Health & Safety policies on a major project. This role is vital in ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, fostering a proactive safety culture across all project phases.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the project's health and safety strategy, standards, and procedures, aligning them with corporate policies and regulations.
  • Serve as the main H&S expert within the project team, providing guidance to leadership.
  • Integrate safety requirements into project design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational activities.
  • Lead risk assessments, safety reviews, and establish work permit systems.
  • Oversee contractor safety management, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and behavioral observations to monitor safety performance.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Promote a safety-first mindset through training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate safety audits, inspections, and external regulatory reviews, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor safety performance through KPIs, report findings, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project teams, regulators, and external auditors, to maintain safety standards.
  • Drive continuous safety improvements and share lessons learned across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within complex or large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience with risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence a safety culture.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and external partners.
