• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash registers, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits.
• Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Recommend items for sale to customers, including trade‑up and/or companion items.
• Register customer purchases on assigned cash registers: collect cash, distribute change, process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Take customers to OTC aisle when possible.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records; check in and price merchandise as required or directed by store manager or shift leader.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring correct entry, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, report prescription errors immediately, and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Follow the Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Strictly adhere to the Walgreens Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
• Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner. Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assist Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals). Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, or order errors involving Rx drugs.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items (raw vs. pre‑cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out method and restock outs.
• Maintain working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
• Provide customer service in the photo area: digital passport photo, poster print, creative machine, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
• Assume web pick‑up responsibilities (monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, fill orders, deliver items to customers as they arrive at store).
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies and procedures.
