Location: Cullompton
Salary: £14.12 per hour + holiday pay or £15.82 umbrella
Hours: Monday to Sunday 9am - 5pm, 1 weekend in 3 lone working. 37hr/week, however we would consider 30hr/week.
Contract duration: 8-12 weeks
About the Role
We re looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our young people project in Cullompton. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference by helping people achieve independence and stability in their lives.
You ll play a key part in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents. The goal is to empower individuals to reach their personal goals, develop life skills, and prepare for independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, professional relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- Support the day-to-day running of supported accommodation, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Assist residents with settling in, completing move-in documentation, and feeling welcomed from day one.
- Develop, implement, and review individual support plans that promote independence and personal development.
- Write and review risk assessments, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and regularly updated.
- Manage an allocated caseload, providing consistent, person-centred support.
- Support residents to build practical life skills, manage finances, and prepare for move-on accommodation.
- Lead or support group activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, and community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety requirements.
You are someone who values empathy, patience, and professionalism. You can stay calm in challenging situations and approach every person with respect and understanding.
Essential:
- Experience supporting individuals or working in a customer-focused environment.
- In-date, Enhanced DBS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Outlook and Word).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays on a rota basis.
- Qualification in youth work, housing, social care, or a related field.
- Experience in a specialist support area (e.g., mental health, education, substance misuse).
