The position serves as the Sound Laboratory Supervisor and reports directly to the Assistant Chief at the National Audio-Visual Conservation Center of the Library of Congress, Culpeper, VA. The incumbent is responsible for duplication of recordings, preservation of the content, and proper playing of these items that are subsequently selected for the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. The Laboratory endeavors to make all deposits in the care of the Division available for listening or viewing, as appropriate, by scholars, while maintaining the intellectual content in the best preserved form.
This position is located in the Preservation Services Section, Motion Picture, Broadcasting & Recorded Sound Division (MBRS), Collections and Services, Library Services.
