Harris Technologies is seeking a Facilities Engineer at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment’s Orange, VA site. Our site is near Culpeper, VA
, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC)! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high‑complexity production programs.
Aerojet Rocketdyne is an innovative company delivering solutions that create value for its customers in the aerospace and defense markets. The company is a world‑recognized aerospace and defense leader that provides propulsion and energetics to the space, missile defense and strategic systems, tactical systems and armaments areas, in support of domestic and international markets.
Under minimal supervision, conceives and plans a variety of complex facilities engineering projects, providing technical advice on feasibility, planning, costs, and time requirements. Coordinate, manage, follow‑up and close‑out capital projects. Acts as a technical adviser and expert on building HVAC system design, control systems, operations, and maintenance. Ensures that work performed by the company’s personnel or contractors conforms to national, state and local laws, regulations and codes.
This position will support facilities projects.
- Coordinate preparation of project drawings, specifications and scope‑of‑work
- Estimate project costs and/or prepare capital expenditure requests
- Prepare purchase requisitions for respective projects, track project costs, track project progress, conduct status and follow‑up meetings, and other administrative matters
- Construction inspection for required conformance
- Driver’s License Requirement: Employees who drive on company business to carry out job‑related duties must possess a valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the company. Eligibility for employment for those who do not meet this requirement due to disability will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant facilities experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
- Preferably degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
