Responsibilities Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory
  • Assist the registered nurse and/or provider through data collection concerning the physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of patients according to practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
  • Organize and prioritize nursing care activities considering the needs of the patients and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient’s needs as directed by the registered nurse/provider.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of care given in progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing education and reinforcement of care plans developed by the Provider/RN based on identified health and education needs and the condition and age of the patient.
  • Provide a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Participate in professional development of self and contribute to the professional development of others.
  • Demonstrate teamwork in the delivery of patient care.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
  • Assist in ensuring effective and efficient clinic operations while maintaining consistent and accurate communication with team members, referring providers, and patients.
  • Assist with data collection for physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of patients according to professional practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
  • Complete standardized rooming and perform clinical intake, data collection, and documentation.
  • Provide clinical support to licensed healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures, including preparing laboratory specimens, performing testing, cleaning and sterilization of instruments/equipment and rooms, wound care, administering medications, and related tasks as directed.
  • Organize and prioritize daily work assignments to support patient needs, the interdisciplinary team, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by the Health Care Provider (HCP).
  • Reinforce patient/family teaching plans based on identified health education needs and the patient’s condition and age.
  • Provide a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Document and capture charges for clinical support services rendered within the patient visit.
  • Perform administrative support responsibilities, including drafting letters, assisting with forms, facilitating scheduling, managing in-basket messaging, and clinic/chart prep.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and recognize time-sensitive issues.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development of self and others.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program
Experience
  • None Required
Licensure
  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding.
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
Physical Demands

Standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.

Minimum Requirements for Medical Assistant (MA)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
  • Currently enrolled in or have completed a Medical Assistant Program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES and/or hold a current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association (AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA, NHA).
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Physical Demands

Standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
