The Registered Nurse provides leadership within the healthcare team, delivering patient-centered care and collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care. The RN uses best available evidence and compassion to support patients in navigating their health journey, and adheres to current policies and procedures while providing care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.

• Provide patient care and document care under the direction of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager.
• Assist in planning and implementing the interdisciplinary plan of care; educate patients and their support systems.
• Analyze, modify, and execute strategies to progress the patient through their plan of care.
• Prioritize nursing duties according to patient needs and changing acuity levels; complete nursing interventions and related therapies in a timely manner.
• Maintain effective communication with the interdisciplinary team; hand off patient care using appropriate tools.
• Document information timely and accurately; communicate the individualized plan of care to patients and families.
• Collaborate on patient education and participate in mentoring, precepting, orientation, and providing feedback to team members as needed.
• Demonstrate medical knowledge in routine and specialized patient care, including starting IVs, dressing changes, and assisting in critical situations when required.
• Administer and evaluate medication therapies; assist in patient transfers and transport as needed.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Refer to Life Support Training Policy for details.
• Lifestyle and Licensure: Current RN licensure in the applicable state required. CPI certification within three months of hire is required for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and CSSO roles. If the RN license has been inactive, retired, or lapsed for five years or more with no licensure in another state in the last five years, completion of a Board-approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating licensure.
  
  Apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Additional Skills/Requirements: Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients, multitask, prioritize quickly, administer medications using the five rights, communicate effectively, and use basic computer skills. Ability to care safely for all patient populations in the department.

• Physical Demands: Medium to heavy physical activity; constant standing, frequent walking, bending/stooping; ability to lift/pull/push up to 100 lbs with Safe Handling Equipment; appropriate sensory abilities for safe patient care.
• Safety/Equipment: May require safety equipment such as HEPA mask for infection prevention.
• On-Call/Travel: On-call responsibilities as directed; ability to travel between campus buildings and remote facilities as needed.
