Plumbing Technician

Job Description

Wortman Mechanical, LLC is hiring a highly experienced, dependable, and driven Plumber to execute complex installation projects. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role for a proven professional who takes pride in top-tier craftsmanship. You will lead full-scope plumbing installations from rough-ins and fixture set-ins to major underground utility replacements and main sewer line overhauls.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute rough-in and trim-out plumbing systems, water supply lines, drainage systems, water heaters, and water treatment systems.
- Safely operate excavation and heavy equipment (such as mini-excavators, trenchers, and skid steers) for underground sewer line and water main repair/replacement.
- Perform manual digging, trenching, and pipe laying in outdoor job site conditions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job specifications to plan layout, pipe routing, and slope requirements accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and Wortman Mechanical quality expectations.
- Maintain an organized work site, manage materials efficiently, and safely care for company tools and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Experience:

Minimum 8+ years of hands-on plumbing installation and underground pipe fitting experience (Journeyman or Master license strongly preferred).
- Equipment Proficiency:
Proven experience operating excavation equipment on job sites.
- Work Ethic & Mindset:
True self-starter with an unmatched work ethic—ready to roll up your sleeves, work in trenches, and take ownership of projects.
- Physical Capability:
Ability to handle heavy physical labor, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, dig, lift heavy materials, and work in tight spaces.
- Driver’s License:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
