Join a busy concrete construction crew in Culpeper, VA as a Carpenter Helper supporting formwork and basic structural carpentry. This is hands-on site work building, setting, and stripping footings, slabs, decks, and tilt-up/precast forms. You'll use hand and power tools and work alongside experienced carpenters on active commercial jobsites.
This role offers steady, ongoing work with no travel required, on-site training, and clear paths to advance into higher carpentry or formwork roles. Five openings are available for dependable candidates who can follow directions, work safely, and take pride in quality workmanship.
What you'll do Assist in building, setting, and stripping footing, slab-on-grade, and structural deck forms
Help prep and set tilt-up and precast forms on commercial jobsites
Use hand and power tools to cut, measure, fasten, and repair wood, plywood, and steel form components
Follow layout and form drawings and assist with alignment and bracing of forms
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow site-specific safety rules
Participate in on-the-job training and required site certifications
What we're looking forHigh school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of related experience or training in carpentry or concrete formwork
Able to measure and cut wood accurately and safely
Experience helping carpenters with framing or forming preferred
Comfortable using common carpenter hand and power tools
Physically able to lift, carry, climb, and work outdoors on varied terrain
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED1+ year of carpentry, formwork, or related construction experience
Ability to read and interpret basic drawings/layouts
Proven measuring and cutting skills with hand and power tools
Able to communicate in English on the jobsite
