A Westside mid-sized company is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team.

In this role, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliation, and supporting month-end close and inventory.

To be successful in this role, the Staff Accountant will need to be able to thrive on a small team, wear many hats, and have great data and Excel skills.

What do you need for this Staff Accountant role?

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 2-5 years of accounting experience

Advanced Excel Must have experience working in manufacturing, consumer products, or related field with inventory

What will you do in this Staff Accountant role?

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and inventory-related transactions

Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, with a focus on inventory, cost of goods sold, and related reserves

Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory roll-forwards, cycle counts, physical counts, and reconciliation of variances

Analyze inventory and COGS fluctuations; investigate and explain variances

Maintain accurate fixed asset and prepaid schedules, as applicable

Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and audit support schedules

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost reporting

Support process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures and controls
