UNFOLD is seeking a Jr. Copywriter, Social who lives and breathes internet culture. This isn’t a role for “traditional” copy; we’re looking for somebody who knows how to stop the scroll with a single line of on-screen text or a perfectly curated meme. This person is a digital native who understands the difference between a "brand trying too hard" and a brand that actually gets the joke.

This role is ideal for an early-career creative who lives in social feeds, understands how language evolves online, and can write copy that stops the scroll and sparks engagement.

This role will focus on short-form social copy — memes, captions, hooks, punchy headlines, and on-screen text — working closely with designers, motion artists, and senior creatives to bring social-first ideas to life across Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube, and emerging platforms.

• Write clear, clever, and culturally relevant social copy
  , including memes, captions, on-screen text, hooks, and headlines designed for shareability and engagement.
• Concept social-first creative ideas, including trend-hopping.
• Support the execution of social-first creative ideas by translating concepts into concise, platform-native language.
• Collaborate with designers, motion artists, and senior creatives to ensure copy and visuals work seamlessly together.
• Adapt existing assets, clips, and media libraries into fresh meme formats and social posts optimized for today’s platforms.
• Help maintain consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across social content.
• Stay up to date on social trends, meme formats, fandom language, and internet culture — and proactively bring relevant ideas to the team.
• Revise and refine copy based on feedback, performance insights, and platform best practices.

• 1–3 years of experience writing copy for social media, preferably for entertainment, media, or youth/culture-driven brands (agency experience is a plus, but not required).
• Strong writing skills with a demonstrated ability to write short-form, internet-native copy (memes, captions, headlines, on-screen text).
• Deep familiarity with Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube, and evolving social formats and trends.
• A strong sense of humor and cultural awareness, with instincts for what feels timely, relatable, and shareable.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate closely with designers and senior creatives.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where trends move quickly.
• A portfolio or samples that show social writing, meme-style copy, or platform-native content.

Salary for this position can start around $68,000 annually with potential for higher compensation based on experience and demonstrated expertise.
