Technical Accounting Consultant

Location:

Pay Range: $75 - $90/hour on W2

Description:

The IFRS 2.0 project team is responsible for implementing the IFRS 18 accounting standard, issued in April 2024. We are seeking a dedicated technical accounting representative to join our team and perform a critical role as we move into phase 2 of our project. This phase will focus on updating the budget, forecast, and MRP process, along with other requirements related to Chart of Accounts and disclosures from
*** Group Tokyo.

This role will work closely with various stakeholders from respective lines of business to ensure compliance with new IFRS regulations, enhance budgeting, forecasting, MRP, and financial reporting processes, including system changes, and maintain robust internal controls.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the IFRS 2.0 project team to implement IFRS 18 requirements, ensuring all financial records and reports comply with the new regulations. Example activities include:

• Attending IFRS 2.0 project ceremonies such as daily standups, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Understanding sprint goals and collaborating to deliver the needed changes.
• Serving as the technical accounting representative, understanding IFRS requirements, communicating with impacted stakeholders, and preparing documentation for management and audit review.
• Assessing current practices and identifying gaps through communication with finance teams.
• Educating finance personnel on updated policies and IFRS compliance.
• Revisiting processes, controls, and documentation to align with new requirements in coordination with stakeholders.

Experience/Skillset:

• Research and documentation of accounting guidance (e.g., IFRS).
• Financial reporting experience, including process and controls documentation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts).
• Self-motivated team player.

Nice to have:

• Entertainment industry exposure.
• Experience with IFRS.
• Agile/Scrum exposure.
• SAP/BW/S4 HANA systems knowledge.

Education:

• B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics.
• C.P.A. or equivalent preferred but not required.
