Veterinary Technician – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The purpose of an ICU is to have critical patients requiring intensive care in one organized area that provides the highest level of close monitoring and care. Our ICU includes critical patients and those at risk of decompensation, requiring close observation. It is open to all services, so patients from all departments are in the ICU.
We are hiring exceptional Veterinary Technicians to join our growing ICU nursing team, which values caring for the sickest patients, attention to detail, and advancing critical care nursing skills. ICU nurses work closely with ICU doctors to provide optimal patient recovery. Responsibilities specific to ICU nurses include skills and procedures that will be taught over time, and require organization and a clean work environment.
ICUTechnician Skills Include:
- Nasogastric tube placement
- Urinary catheter placement (male and female)
- Central line placement
- Single and double lumen PICC lines
- Triple lumen jugular catheters
- Arterial puncture for blood gas analysis
- Arterial catheter placement and care
- Thoracic auscultation
- Perfusion analysis
- Electrolyte and blood gas analysis
- CPR
- Care of patients on mechanical ventilators
- Care of patients with tracheostomies, chest tubes, and abdominal drains
- Feeding tube care and nutrition administration
- Calculating CRIs (analgesics, inotropes, vasopressors, electrolytes)
Located in Culver City, ACCESS LA is a referral hospital with 24-hour Emergency services. Our technicians encounter a variety of cases, working closely with highly qualified doctors across specialty departments, offering unique experiences for those passionate about caring for sick or injured animals in a dynamic environment.

Experience & Skills Requirements:- RVT preferred
- At least 3 years of veterinary assisting/technician experience
- Desire to provide superior patient care

Overnight and weekend differential pay ranges from $3 to $5 per hour in addition to base pay. Compensation is negotiable, starting at $22-$43/hour, considering skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Shifts Available:Swing and Overnight shifts. Compensation is based on credentials and experience, starting at $22-$43/hour, and will be determined based on various factors.
