The Lead, Systems Engineering, will be a senior member of a team accountable for the uptime and management of all SPE Global Enterprise Server Infrastructure. This position requires strong expertise in enterprise system analysis, design, architecture, and project management, and focuses on problem management, building and maintaining positive business relationships with IT organizations, clients, and vendors. Responsibilities are performed with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Senior team member on the Global Server Technology Team.
- Perform installations and configurations of multiple virtualization technologies and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, etc.).
- Establish standards for server hardware and operating systems and communicate policies to the affected audience.
- Develop performance management procedures for server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain server resources globally throughout the enterprise.
- Manage IT staff relationships to ensure service levels and availability of all servers.
- Manage outages, identify root causes, and resolve all server issues within allowed service levels.
- Participate in daily production meetings to report production system status.
- Participate in change control, production acceptance, and event management processes.
- Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies.
- Participate in developing a viable, cost‑effective disaster recovery capability.
- Develop monthly reports of statistics and progress against internal and external service levels.
- Manage server capacity and provide utilization statistics to the capacity planner.
- Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers.
- Minimum 8 years employment in the IT industry with major systems and vendors.
- Minimum 5 years experience deploying, managing and maintaining Cloud Services on one or more of the major CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Intel and/or x86 systems administrator.
- Minimum 8 years experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Minimum 3 years experience with virtualization OS (VMware, Power
VM, Oracle VM). - Minimum 3 years experience with multi‑tier application development.
- Computer networking concepts: switching, routing, firewalls.
- Recent experience with Cloud technologies and services from the top 3 CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Linux OS: systems knowledge, bash/python scripting, ansible and other configuration management tools.
- Windows OS:
Group Policy, registry, protocols, configuration management tools. - Virtualization: SDDC/SDN/SDS concepts, preferably VMware/Nutanix products.
- IaC/Dev Ops tools:
Jenkins, Git Hub, Terraform, etc. - System design: ER diagrams, n‑tier architecture, expertise in architectural drawing tools.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and their practical implementations in system engineering and operations.
- Project management:
Waterfall/Agile, ROI, FRD/BRD/TRD, CBA/budgeting. - Experience with RDMS, No
SQL, and other common database platforms. - Two or more years of entertainment experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- Able to travel about 10% of the time.
- Effective written and verbal communication at all levels of the organization on architecture and technology issues.
- Deep understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
- Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.
- Strategic and tactical thinking to implement business and technical vision.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $138,000‑$167,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, years of experience, education, certifications, and location.
