ALT Systems, a national systems provider for the Media & Entertainment industry, is recruiting qualified applicants for a Managed Services position as an MG Studio Desktop Support Engineer. This is an onsite, full-time technical support job on behalf of a major Silicon Valley technology company that creates multi-platform content for apps, gaming, music, movies, and TV.

This position is responsible for promptly addressing and resolving technical and workflow issue reports, documenting and tracking support tickets, vendor support liaison, issue escalation, and hands‑on software version upgrades as required. You’ll be backed up by an experienced staff of ALT Systems engineers, technicians, and project managers dedicated to delivering world‑class managed services on behalf of one of Silicon Valley’s biggest content creators.

Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • 3+ years in a similar position, ideally supporting motion graphics desktop computer users.
  • Hands‑on technical experience with Mac OS‑based computers, post‑production systems, and Ethernet and Fibre Channel data networks.
  • Operational knowledge of creative Mac‑based applications such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk, Cinema 4D, and editorial and finishing systems.
  • Experience with setting‑up artist workstations.
  • On‑boarding and Off‑boarding Artists – Troubleshooting MacOS.
  • Support of high‑performance video‑specific infrastructure systems in an enterprise CG Studio.
  • Knowledge of Xsan/Stornext SAN environments.
  • Knowledge of rendering tools including VRay, Mantra, and Deadline.
  • Creating and maintaining clear and concise documentation and schedules.
  • Ongoing interaction with end‑users and system administrator support personnel to ensure the best possible customer experience.

Successful candidates also will have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills defined as the capability to converse fluently, communicate effectively, and write intelligibly in the English language, the ability to develop ideas in a logical, analytical sequence, to express thoughts clearly, and to write elegantly, clearly, and concisely.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • A positive, solution‑oriented attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • A BS degree in either CS/CE, Communications, or equivalent experience.

This is an exempt individual contributor position requiring the ability to sit, stand, speak, hear, see, operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and lift up to 50 pounds.
