The Case Manager with support the Youth@Work Program. They will be responsible for assisting and guiding, and helping participants reach their employment goals.

Requirements
  • Two years of related working experience with high-risk, at-risk, probation, foster care, and/or low-income youth and/or parents and/or experience working with diverse communities or Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Education, Psychology, Sociology or related field, or 60 units of college credit. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and/or young adults in an education, workforce, or social service setting preferred. Experience with group facilitation, & group presentations & case management.
  • Must be passionate with helping the youth population.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, independently, meet deadlines, meet performance and encourage others to excel. Proficiency in Window/Microsoft Office environment.
  • Sensitivity and awareness for youth culture, diversity, and youth inclusion concepts including the principles and practices of youth development preferred.
  • Knowledge of Title I programs and CalJOBS preferred.
  • Complete CWDP course and exam within 3 months of employment and secure CWDP certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Work flexible hours, including early morning, evenings, and weekends is required.
  • Travel to various locations, such as businesses, worksites, off-site meetings, and other related events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts orientations for participants in accordance with program requirements of the Youth@Work Program. Determine eligibility for Level 1 (Work Based Learning) or Level 2 (WIOA Youth) services.
  • Conduct initial assessment of career interests, aptitudes, barriers, supportive services determination, and community referrals.
  • Assist with outreaching, recruitment, enrollment, assessment, and placement of youth for the program. Conduct outreach activities and presentations at County offices, high schools, adult schools, community colleges, libraries, and so forth.
  • Outreach to at-risk/high risk populations, e.g., justice-impacted, foster youth, unhoused youth, system involved youth, CalWORKS, low-income, etc.
  • Provide the 14 Elements services to WIOA Youth and Work Based Learning opportunities to youth. Co-enroll youth into other AJCC program and services based on need and benefits.
  • Complete enrollment including intake application and eligibility documents; prepare and manage case file to ensure contract compliance; maintain online case management records, upload of documentation, and real-time case noting.
  • Provide supportive services to youth, including transportation, work attire/equipment, certifications, etc. Offer short-term training opportunities for youth in high growth sector and adhere to ITA procedures.
  • Process documentation with Finance Deaprment procedures. Update internal tracking system with all supportive services rendered.
  • Mutually develop a comprehensive Individual Employment Plan (IEP) and Objective Assessment with youth; identify for goals and objectives for employment based on the 14 WIOA Youth Elements;
  • Develops new worksites and/or re-establish existing worksites to create new worksites for subsidized employment.
  • Outreach to high growth sectors to connect worksites with program services for work experience.
  • Provide overview of worksite expectations and conduct orientation. Execute worksite agreement, conduct safety check walk-through, and provide all necessary documentation, such as timesheets, performance evaluations to ensure worksite compliance;
  • Monitors and evaluates youth progress through program components; collecting performance evaluations on youth progress/uploading into CalJOBS system and monitoring worksites by conducting site visits; resolves any problems or provides guidance with any youth worksite issues.
