Senior Cost Accountant – Summit Federal Services / Merito Group (MD State Police)

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to provide cost estimating and financial management support throughout the life cycle of IT applications or systems. The role includes conducting investment, benefits, risk, economic, and operational analyses; supporting architecture economic studies; and resolving cost accounting or financial problems.

Duties: Provide cost estimating and financial management support for IT applications or systems; conduct investment analyses, market surveys, cost, benefits, risk, and economic analyses; define requirements, develop schedules, and perform trade‑off studies; support architecture efforts with economic, affordability, and issue resolution analyses; conduct complex technical analyses and schedule constraint studies; identify cost accounting problems and recommend solutions; present plans, analyses, and advice to functional areas.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree and CPA are preferred.

General

Experience:

Minimum of eight years of relevant experience as a cost analyst or in related business analysis fields such as accounting, finance, or economics.

Specialized

Experience:

At least five years of experience in financial cost accounting with demonstrated success analyzing information systems.
