Clinical Supervisor - Abuse Intervention Program (4214)

Position Summary

Clinical Supervisors will be responsible for reviewing and co‑signing all assessments performed by the clinical staff and providing one‑on‑one and group supervision to staff. They will employ supervision methods aimed at assessing and developing staff competencies and utilize motivational interviewing skills in supervision with staff. Clinical Supervisors are also responsible for ensuring the program is implemented to fidelity.

Duties and Responsibilities Program Implementation
  • Review and co‑sign all assessments performed by the clinical staff.
  • Ensure program is implemented to fidelity through observation, review of case information, etc.
  • Conduct assessments, complete treatment plans and reviews, and facilitate group and individual sessions, as needed.
Supervision
  • Provide one‑on‑one and group clinical supervision to staff weekly.
  • Employ supervision methods aimed at assessing and developing staff competencies.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing skills in supervision with staff.
Development of Professional Self
  • Appropriately utilize supervision to discuss staff’s professional strengths and areas of growth in a non‑defensive manner.
  • Support staff in identifying appropriate growth opportunities and short‑ and long‑term professional goals. Share current research, literature, and best practices in management and treatment of adults who have committed domestic violence offenses with staff.
  • Follow professional ethics consistent with professional degree or license and seek consultation as appropriate to adequately address diverse client needs.
  • Demonstrate self‑awareness by maintaining professional boundaries and managing transference.
Additional Functions
  • Exhibit professional communication skills with clients, MTT members, court systems and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in peer consultation with other DCF‑contracted consultants and staff from other AIPs on a regular basis as dictated by DCF.
  • Team with DCF on program development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, counseling or other related area.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of twenty‑one (21) hours of training in clinical supervision. Possess a minimum of 100 hours providing general clinical supervision during the past five (5) years. Training and experience in domestic violence is required. Training and experience in substance use and addiction preferred. Experience implementing CBT and other evidence‑based approaches preferred.
  • License: Hold professional mental health counseling license (LPC/LCSW).
