TWR Communications is looking for new members to add to its T-E-A-M. TWR Communications has been in business continually since the 1940s. Employment opportunities include an Electronics Technician and Installer for Home and Commercial Security, Video Surveillance and Access Control Keycard Systems as part of TWRs Network. TWR Communications has been in business since the 1940s specializing over the years in Two-Way Radio, Paging, Customer Home and Commercial Security, Video Surveillance Systems, Access Control Keycard Systems, Internet and Telephone Answering Service.

We are the only locally based full line communications carrier left in the Cumberland area.

Brief Summary/Objective

The electronics technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electronics such as Security, Fire, Surveillance Cameras, Internet Devices, and other related components. Position may occasionally involve climbing ladders, troubleshooting, and installing systems in the field at Homes, Businesses and Vehicles. Install, program, maintain, or repair security or fire alarm wiring and equipment. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. This position will include daily Service Calls that are often scheduled by Appointment along with installing systems for new customers.

Communicating with other members of TWRs team keeps our company a leader in the communications field in the Tri-State area. Ability to utilize and interpret various testing tools. Maintaining a safe working environment is a must. Basic soldering experience preferred. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Applicant must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a Federal and State background check.

Fingerprinting is required for this check and hiring will be contingent on being able to pass the standard records check. Our experienced team will listen carefully to your employment needs and then work diligently to match your skills to our qualifications through training as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoots and repair electronic equipment, including programming, power supplies, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and other related equipment.
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
  • Position equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details on the operation of these devices.
  • Explain use of products or services and troubleshooting efforts during Service Calls.
  • Record all purchases and sales of parts and equipment.
  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Informs appropriate management of potential system outages and recommended procedures to restore services when needed.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions at Customer locations.
  • Work with our Account Executive who sells the Security lines of TWRs business.

In a commercial setting our Service Technicians are well versed in both installations and service. They are responsible for installing, programming, and troubleshooting Security and Video equipment, responding to service calls and customer training.

Outline Of Common Duties And Responsibilities

Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required. Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.

Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.

Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components. Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to wood framing, using staplers.
