Job Overview

Salary: $69,000 - $76,000

  • Maintain general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and year‑end closings
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely disbursements and collections
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local fiscal regulations and reporting requirements
  • Perform sales and use tax compilation and reporting
  • Perform research and account analysis, as assigned
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring the availability of accurate and comprehensive documentation while upholding the highest ethical and compliance standards
  • Adhere to the ethical standards of the profession
  • Monitor revenue and expense activity to ensure proper setup and use of account codes to comply with the state mandated Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA)
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including UCOA and grant reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with departments and school leaders to ensure proper use and oversight of funds
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required;
    Master’s degree or CPA preferred
  • Experience with RI Uniform Chart of Accounts strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a professional role
  • Experience in nonprofit or educational finance preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience with any accounting software required
