Job overview

A full time (10 PA) substantive post, as a Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with unselected general medicine on call (excluding acute cardiology and acute stroke) is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust based at both Wycombe Hospital and Stoke Mandeville Hospital (SMH). Part time will be considered.

The successful applicant will join 8 enthusiastic, friendly and forward‑thinking Respiratory Consultants, who work in a cohesive unit. We are looking for someone with passion to be part of the lung cancer team carrying out diagnostics of bronchoscopic and pleural procedures and taking part in the cancer MDT as well as outpatient management, including our new lung screening service (Lung Health Check) due to start in April 2024.

We welcome those with skills to expand our current service for the future, including radial EBUS, pleural biopsy, IPC placement, and thoracoscopy. The successful candidate can be supported to develop skills during the job, from current consultants and Interventional Radiology.
