Bishop Burton College is seeking a confident and experienced safeguarding professional to join its Student Services team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in safeguarding, child protection and wellbeing, who is passionate about supporting young people and adults successful candidate will be a resilient and organised individual, able to manage complex situations with professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and provide clear guidance to staff, students and external partners, while upholding high standards of safeguarding practice.
You may currently be working in a safeguarding-focused role such as a Safeguarding Officer, DSL or Deputy DSL within a school or college, or in a pastoral, youth work, social care or family support position. In your current role, you are likely already managing safeguarding concerns, making referrals, and working closely with external agencies such as social care, police and mental health services.
You may also be providing guidance to colleagues and supporting individuals at risk, while maintaining accurate and confidential records and contributing to a safe and supportive environment.
