CFS is looking to employ a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
HoursThe role is for 21 hours per week spread over 4days, term-time only, on a 12 month fixed-term contract. This role could be undertaken as a job share.
About our schoolIndependent Sector, 170 to 200 pupils from 4 to 16.
CFS is a faith venture within a parent collaborative setting, where young people learn to consider the world and themselves in a Christ‑centred way, and the next generation are actively discipled to equip them to serve society creatively and courageously. School families come from diverse ethnic and church backgrounds across the wider Merseyside region.
We see working at CFS as part of our Christian calling to serve the church through education. The salary structure is consequently reflected in this vision.
More about the roleWe are looking for an adaptable learning support assistant to provide learning, pastoral and practical support for pupils with SEND in Lower School.
The role will involve working flexibly in Lower School classrooms to support pupils through planned interventions, adapted learning activities for individuals or small groups, and wider classroom support that enables teachers to work directly with pupils with additional needs. You will help pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication skills and positive relationships.
The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment and will support pupils in managing routines, transitions, behaviour and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
We are looking for someone who is warm, patient and thoughtful, able to build positive relationships with children whilst also showing initiative, good judgement and a willingness to learn. Experience of supporting children with additional needs, including neurodiversity, would be beneficial, although training and ongoing support will be provided.
Additionally, the applicants must be practising Christians (occupational requirement under Part 1 of schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010).
SafeguardingThe Governors and Staff of CFS take seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the children and young people entrusted to our care and it is our expectation that all staff and volunteers will share this commitment. Other pre-employment checks will be carried out in line with our duties as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE 2023) and these are detailed in the application form, including consideration of the applicant’s digital footprint.
