About the Role

Due to continued growth and recent contract wins our client is looking to recruit an additional Electrically Bias Service Engineer to join their expanding field-based engineering team.

This role would suit an early mid‑level Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Field Service Engineer who has completed an apprenticeship and is looking to build hands‑on experience working on industrial machinery and extraction systems.

You’ll be carrying out maintenance, fault‑finding, installation and commissioning of engineering workshop machinery and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems across industrial and educational sites.

Training and support will be provided (particularly around LEV systems) making this an excellent development opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial machinery and LEV systems
  • Fault‑find and repair electrical and mechanical issues at customer sites
  • Assist with installation, modification, and upgrades of machinery and extraction systems
  • Commission equipment electrically and mechanically following installation
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately
  • Work as part of a team on larger or more complex projects
Equipment & Systems You’ll Work With
  • Woodworking and metalworking machinery
  • LEV and dust extraction systems (fans, filters, ducting)
  • Single and three‑phase motors
  • Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), soft starters, DOL and star/delta systems
  • PLCs, solenoids, control relays and pressure switches
  • Bearings, fans, and impellers
We’re Keen to Hear from Candidates Who:
  • Have completed a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship
  • Have some post‑apprenticeship experience
  • Have experience in maintenance, service or field‑based engineering
  • Are comfortable working on industrial or workshop machinery
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Are practical, hands‑on and keen to learn
Desirable (Not Essential):
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Inspection & Testing
  • ECS or CSCS
  • Experience with conduit, tray, or trunking installation

Home‑based, covering mainly the Central Belt of Scotland. Occasional mid‑week working away within the UK.

This is a good opportunity for an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer looking to develop their career in a varied, field‑based service and maintenance role within a successful and well established business.

Apply now to discuss this opportunity in confidence.
